Annual Backpack Project
Starts This Weekend!
The annual Backpack Project is underway. Our goal is to provide local children with new backpacks filled with supplies needed for their school year. Last year we distributed 202 backpacks! These children are from families that are included in our monthly food program or have received other assistance during the year. Their family budgets don’t allow for extras such as backpacks and school supplies.
Due to current restrictions and limited access to the church building, we are replacing our poster board of sticky notes requesting school supplies, with SignUpGenius. Click below for the virtual poster board.
If you prefer to make a financial contribution to the Backpack Project instead of shopping, your donation can by clicking here
Backpack Project Donation. If making your donation by check, make it payable to St. James Catholic Church and send it to the church office attention: Christian Service. Please be sure to mark Backpack Project on the memo line.
All backpacks and school supplies can be placed in the blue bin inside door #6. This door is open 24 hours a day. If attending mass, supplies can be placed on the cart in the narthex. Donations are due by Sunday, August 23rd.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness to those in need!
